Mindika is a multi-award-winning jewellery designer. He has more than thirty years of extensive experience in the jewellery manufacture and designing. During this period, he has worked for several leading jewellers in Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and Australia. He has studied jewellery manufacturing and designing in Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. His work and studies in different countries has helped him gain extensive knowledge and a wide range of skills and experience. Mindika has successfully completed a Master’s degree at the London Metropolitan University. Working in four different countries over a period of thirty years, he has enhanced his knowledge and understanding of the jewellery trade by considering strategies for concept development and the analysis of design problems. Mindika has developed and created a range of high-quality hand-made jewellery influenced by modern and traditional decorative elements which would cater to the modern day market where customers searching for modern designs with classic decorations. He also uses fantasy cut gem stones in his designs with innovative settings, demonstrating modern creative awareness. A highly engineered look, unusual settings, fine edges, creativity, efficiency, functionality, flexibility, delicacy, light weight but with strength and durability are the hallmark of his designs.
